Peter F. Hovell's LWV Debate Closing Remarks
I am here tonight to ask you to vote for not only myself – but Paul and Tom – and for Susan Young.
I believe that your Board of Finance has done an outstanding job over the past year in attempting to hold down your tax rate – and in seeing that the money is being spent wisely.
To do this – we need budgetary control – we need cooperation and communications between boards – and we need fiscal prudence.
I do not care what Mrs Klein has said – but in her heart of hearts – I do not believe that she believes or understands those attributes. I suspect that she is constitutionally incapable of meeting those criteria.
If you agree with our actions this past year – I truly hope that you will demonstrate that confidence by voting for me – for Tom, Paul, Susan Young - and for fiscal prudence.
