Ten years ago during my first term on Planning and Zoning, the Commission published a Town Plan designed to stimulate the revitalization of our downtown. As a consequence of that plan and a great deal of work by both the Commission and staff, our commercial center has become a more vibrant, pedestrian friendly sector of our town.
The task, however, is not finished. We are currently in the midst of completing a new Town Plan designed to continue this revitalization. Many key elements of the revitalization continue to evolve as private developers and commercial tenants seek to expand their business opportunities in the pro-active regulatory/planning environment framed by the Commission.
