Cablevision Raises Rates...Again
For the second year in a row, Cablevision is raising its rates. On average, the hike is 2.3%, but as the Area Nine Cable Council has found, some rates are going up much faster.
Here's a breakdown... http://westportct.net/ancc/CVrates06.htm
Cablevision tells the Cable Council that the rate hike is forced by a 12+% increase in programming costs.
Under FCC deregulation, these rates cannot be challenged... not by the Fed's, the state DPUC or the Cable Council. It's up to consumers to make their choice and a) keep their service as is, b) fine tune your package to a more affordable package, or c) "pull the plug" and convert to dish.
What are your thoughts?
