Clarifying Our Guidelines

Recently, we have received several questions about Darien Community Matters’ comment guidelines. In particular, readers have asked why we require writers to sign their names and why we review each comment before it is posted.

We ask writers to sign their names (screen names are okay) to encourage them to stand behind their comments. Signed posts are also easier to follow and reference in a discussion thread. We review comments to guard against spam, personal attacks, and foul language. We rarely reject comments.

We want Darien Community Matters to be an open forum where citizens can discuss town issues without fear of personal attack. We look forward to reading your comments!
