BOS Votes to Appraise Library Building
At its meeting Monday night, the Board of Selectmen approved a $5,500 expenditure to pay for an appraisal of the Darien Library building. According to the Darien News-Review, First Selectwoman Evonne Klein thinks the Leroy Avenue site would be appropriate for senior housing.
The Library will sell its current building to help pay for the new library. "Every dollar we get for the current property is a dollar less that we have to raise in the Capital Campaign", said Library Director Louise Berry.
Visit the Library's New Library Blog for more information about the plans for the new library.
