Thanksgiving Day Football Fever

kickoff[1].jpg

Admit it. Even with all of the turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread, cranberry sauce, and stuffing you'll get to eat this Thanksgiving, the thing you are most looking forward to on Thursday is your chance to watch football for 12 guilt-free hours. My recommendations for making the most of this football & food marathon:

Throw the bird in the oven and make your way to Darien High School to see the Blue Wave take on New Canaan at 10:30am. Be home by 1:00pm to peel potatoes and catch the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions on FOX. Take a quick dinner break before you settle in for the New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys match-up on CBS at 4:15pm. While everyone else makes a beeline for the pumpkin pie and settles in for a tryptophan-inspired nap, guard your claim over the tv remote control. College football will be in full swing with a crunch-time game between USC and Arizona; kickoff is at 8:00pm on ESPN. Plus, the Indianapolis Colts work off their Thanksgiving dinner against the Atlanta Falcons at 8:15pm on the NFL Network.

Still need to research your Fantasy Football team before the big day? Check out this week's Sports Illustrated Start'Em and Sit'Em picks using the Darien Library's Research Resources webpage, where you can access our full list of magazines & journals. If you're researching from home, just make sure to have your library card handy for log-in.

Don't miss the kickoff, and happy Thanksgiving!
