February is American Heart Month

Did you know that February is American Heart Month? The American Heart Association has begun an initiative called Go Red For Women, a site dedicated to women's heart health. Visit the website to share stories of how your life has been affected by heart disease and stroke, take the heart health checkup test, and learn ways to protect your heart at any age.
The community of Darien will be celebrating American Heart Month in a variety of ways. Here are some events so far:
Free Heart Health Seminar:
Friday, February 22nd, 12pm-1pm
Darien Health Department and Stamford Hospital will join together to present a seminar on cardiovascular health for women and their families. Admission is free, and the program will be held at Darien Town Hall Auditorium, 2 Renshaw Road.
Cholesterol Screenings:
Friday, February 29th, 9am-1:30pm
Nursing & Home Care and Darien Health Department will join together to conduct community cholesterol screenings, which will be held in Room 206 at Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road. Allow one half-hour for the appointment, and for more information, call Nursing & Home Care at 203-762-8958 x221.
